I lately attended a western marriage ceremony and I was amazed at the gorgeous spectacle. The bride and bridegroom did a spectacular job choosing fashionable western designs and decor for the distinctive occasion. I thought that the entire thing was going to be a complete mess and that it was going to be far too casual for a true bridal affair but I was terribly wrong.
The first sign that the couple was having a western marriage ceremony was evident in the invitations. The couple chose an invite design that used a rancher hat and a flower bouquet as the primary focus. I knew then there would be country wedding songs at the marriage ceremony. The lovely icons were set on top of a bale of hay that was carefully placed to the left of the pretty notes.
The couple opted to write their own special note for the guests to read and they stuck to the western marriage ceremony theme by saying that they were "getting hitched" and providing the details about the event. This charming presentation was normally informal but the gorgeous design and elegant quality of the invitations balanced the casual approach of the note.
The maid-of-honor also embraced the theme by using wonderful little friendly box necklace and earring sets presented in a rancher hat. These were presented as country wedding songs played. Each box was designed as a hat that opens easily to reveal either a pendant or earrings for the guests at the bridal shower. The gifts were reasonably priced according to the maid-of-honor who was quite proud of her show-stopping choice of bridal shower favors. These keepsakes is going to be enjoyed for years to come and they are a great reminder of the western marriage ceremony.
Wine was given out to the bride and bridegroom in an unusual way. There was a cowboy wine-holder on the bridal table. The base of the wine-holder was a horse-shoe and tied to the base was a cowboy made out of horseshoes as well. His metal arms were outstretched to hold four wine goblets (that were decorated with running horses) and his curved legs held the wine. There were country wedding songs playing when the wine was poured. This great piece fit right into the western marriage ceremony theme.
Perhaps the most awe-inspiring element in the western marriage ceremony was the bride's awe-inspiring gown. This dress had a small train and was enclosed in delicate lace and pearls. It was in no way a ballroom gown but it emanated beauty. The bride looked out from beneath a tastefully decorated cowgirl hat adorned with a light veil. She was the final touch to the western marriage ceremony.
